A weekend in the Alps

Two days, one rental car, and a weather forecast that turned out to be optimistic in every direction. Some notes from the road.

Day one

Drove in fog most of the way to Zermatt. Couldn't see the mountain the entire first afternoon — just knew, from the map, that it was there.

Day two

Woke up to the cloud line sitting exactly at the tree line, which is the one configuration that actually makes for a good photograph. Spent the whole morning at one railing waiting for it to break. The Mountains came out of that wait.

Packed the car and drove home with wet boots and about four hundred frames to go through.
